What it is
Wrist temperature during sleep is shown as a change from your baseline, not an absolute temperature. It can reflect illness, cycle phases and environment.
How Apple measures it
Apple Watch Series 8 and later and Ultra read wrist temperature every few seconds during sleep and build a baseline over about five nights.
What's a normal range?
Day-to-day swings are usually within a few tenths of a degree Celsius. Large sustained rises can accompany fever or illness.
What moves it
- Menstrual cycle phase
- Illness and fever
- Room temperature and bedding
- Alcohol
- Watch fit
